Anti-Wrinkle Aftercare

• The results of your treatment can take up to 14 days to take full effect. Usually, patients notice a change in 4-5 days. It takes time for the muscles to lose strength and the lines to fade following ant-wrinkle treatment. Please wait until 14 days have passed before assessing if you are pleased with the results.
 • Do not touch or rub injected site for 2-4 hours following treatment. Avoid exercise and sweating for the remainder of the day and no lying down or leaning forward for 2-4 hours after treatment.
 • There can be a slight chance of bruising at the treated site, and this is temporary. Be assured that any tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few hours of treatment.
 • Avoid any type of facial, microdermabrasion, or massage for 14 days after treatment.
 • Avoid ibuprofen and aspirin. Paracetamol is acceptable to take if experiencing discomfort (if not contraindicated).
 • Anti-wrinkle is a temporary procedure, and at first, you may find that your treatment results will last approximately 3 months. If you maintain your treatment appointments regularly recommended by your clinician, the duration of each treatment results may last longer than 4 months.
 • And most importantly, remember to apply sunscreen daily.

Dermal Filler Aftercare

• The majority of reactions to dermal fillers are redness, swelling, bruising and tenderness after the injections. These usually subside a few days after the treatment, but can last up to a week. If any of these symptoms persist longer than a week you need to call us immediately.
 • Cold compresses may be used after the treatment to reduce swelling and decrease soreness. You may take paracetamol (if not contraindicated) every 4-6 hours after the treatment to help with any discomfort you may have.
 • Avoid to wear any Make-up for the next 24hrs to prevent any infection.
 • In the first 24 hours following treatment, limit exposure to sunlight or UV lamps. Extensive sun or heat exposure and alcoholic beverages may cause a temporary increase in redness, bruising or swelling at the injection sites.
 • Patients should avoid strenuous exercise for 24hours to prevent moving the filler or increasing blood flow to the face.
 • Avoid excessive touching or massaging the treated areas for about 6 hours after the injections.
 • Avoid dental procedure (including cleaning) 2 weeks post filler.

PDO threads Aftercare

• You are likely to experience swelling and bruising for the first day or two after the PDO Threads. You can resume your day-to-day activities almost immediately after the treatment.
 • Do not rub or massage your face for the first week after the treatment as it comes at the risk of dislodging any face threads.
 • Do not smoke or drink alcohol for at least a week after the procedure, as it can lead to bruising.
 • Sleep on your back and avoid sleeping on your sides for two weeks after the treatment.
 • Do not exercise; use hot tubs and saunas for at least a week after Threads. Avoid strenuous contact sports for 3 weeks afterwards.
 • Eat soft, easy to chew foods for at least the first week after the treatment.
 • You cannot have dental work for at least FOUR weeks after the surgery.
 • No facials or face massage for around 3 weeks.
 • No laser/ heat treatments around the treated area for 3 months.

PRP Aftercare

Immediately after your treatment with a PRP, there may be a slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection and generally disappears in a couple of days.
The swelling after an eye treatment may last longer. If symptoms persist or other reactions occur, please contact us at Sage Aesthetics.
 • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
 • Sleep elevated on 2 pillows to improve swelling.
 • Avoid touching your face for at least 4 hours.
 • Do not expose the area to intense heat or sunlight (eg solarium or sauna).
 • Pain relief such as paracetamol may be taken as directed by your physician.
 • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
 • Do not use active skin care eg AHA, Retinols, Vitamin C.
 • Avoid facials, facial waxing, Glycolic or AHA peels, IPL or energy based treatments and microdermabrasion for 2 weeks after treatment.
 • Do not massage the treated area unless instructed by your physician.
 • No makeup until the day after the procedure is ideal.
 • Do not smoke.
